PRAYER
Grant, my beloved, the light ...MY REFLECTION
PRAYER
Grant, my beloved, the light of your Spirit, to fully understand your words, to fit them into my life and make me move over your steps. I would really love you and I would be as you want me, teach me.
The rich young man has just walked away ... did not want to sell all his possessions to follow Jesus, did not want to give up something that belonged to him.
Peter looks at Jesus and shyly approaches him and asks him if they, who left everything to follow him, are you okay?
There is something in Peter that portends that the answer may not be what you expect, it seems that with Jesus you can not ever fully understand, what is right, what he wants. In fact, Jesus makes a statement that as usual, leaves him dumbstruck.
He says that the mere fact of following his word, opens the completely different scenarios in our lives to know that it is not an end in itself, but that is included in a draft of God, is a proposal captivating you say? Leave everything! It does not mean get a bum, but do not be attached to anything, do not have the most important things of God, that we may mislead and this is very difficult for us.
It was in the time of Jesus, where they lived with little, and it is even more so today, when everything seems to be of primary importance, and indispensable to have everything you are willing to do anything, even to work for many hours. There is a machine, video games, disco, fun evenings, the commitments of children ...
Everything so important to not have time for the Lord. A fleeting Mass on Sunday, and if the priest is a homily too long, how many faces pissed ....
But how good it is every day open the day with prayer, face difficulties with the faith that sustains us, to know that you are not alone, read the scriptures and try to understand in the light of the Holy Spirit, what the Lord tells us. I do it with you, but I wish that all we do each on his own, for having the chance to be face to face with the Lord, open our hearts to Him, to discover that what we receive, and far higher than that to which we give up.
Peter also understand that she must give up his pride, his arrogance, his impetuous nature, to make room for Jesus in his heart, and there rimetteremo, that's for sure!!Mingardi Lellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02564428342953126329noreply@blogger.com
